The Port of Beaumont purchased the former Chicago Bridge & Iron fabrication facility for $8.25 million. AAPA Sustaining Member Cavotec’s engineers recently commissioned an ingenious self-propelled, battery-powered shore power solution – Cavotec AMPMobile – at the Taiziwan cruise terminal at the Port of Shenzhen, southern China. Qube Ports ordered its second mobile harbour crane in 2018 from AAPA Sustaining Member Liebherr.  
 
The Port of Baltimore handled 61,058 autos and light trucks in May 2018, besting its previous record of 60,624 set in November 2015.  The Port handled 90,152 TEU containers for the month, the most in one month since August 2017, when it handled 88,391. The Québec Port Authority recorded a total of 27.5 million tons of cargo handled at the end of 2017. This resulted in revenues of $35.4 million in 2017, nearly $4 million more than in 2016. The Port of Virginia completed the fiscal year having handled 2.8 million TEUs, which is a volume increase of 2.4 percent when compared with last fiscal year.
 
 
   
The Halifax Port Authority is excited that the local chapters of the Council of International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) and the Halifax Employers Association ratified a tentative new labor contractPort of Oakland Executive Director Chris Lytle called for strengthening business ties with Japan. Addressing visitors from the Japanese Port of Hakata, Lytle listed opportunities for growth at sea and in the air.
