In Memoriam Leticia Sáenz

The AAPA staff was saddened to hear that our friend and longtime translator, Leticia Sáenz, passed away on Tuesday, August 29 after a long battle with cancer. She had worked as a translator at AAPA conventions, Spring Conferences, and technical programs for many years.

Leticia worked for CARDISO, AAPA’s translation contractor, for almost 25 years — 22 of which were spent working with AAPA. Leticia was born in Costa Rica, moved to New Orleans for high school and graduated from Loyola University with a degree in journalism.  In the late 1980s, she moved back to Costa Rica, married and began her work as a translator.

Leticia was a sports lover (especially the Saints), crossword puzzle master, cross stitch expert, book worm and had a fantastic wry sense of humor. She is survived by her daughter Dana, 28, and son Eduardo, 26. AAPA sends its thoughts and condolences to Leticia’s friends and family.
