Port Tampa Bay Welcomes Port Industry Veteran as new Vice President of Operations

Sal Kass will join the Port Tampa Bay staff as vice president of operations starting January 1, 2017. His responsibilities will include the facilitation of cargo and cruise operations throughout the port area and port access, whether by water, land or rail.

Mr. Kass comes to Port Tampa Bay with 40 years of experience in the marine operations. Most recently, as Ports America’s Tampa area general manager he was responsible for budget planning and P&L for both vessels and terminal operations. He oversaw, organized and planned all personnel, security, terminal, stevedoring and ancillary services for the terminal. He also served as the company’s overall safety compliance and OSHA officer.

Port President Paul Anderson said of Mr. Kass: "His experience and relationships throughout the maritime industry will help build upon the great things we have already been able to accomplish, and we look forward to having Sal help us take Port Tampa Bay to the next level."
