Administración Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo S.A. de C.V. administers the ports of Cozumel, Chetumal, Puerto Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres and Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsular in the state of Quintana Roo under a concession granted by the federal government in 1994. Services and facilities are available for cargo and cruise passenger operations. Together, the so-called "commercial ports" of Quintana Roo handled nearly 11.6 million metric tons of mostly dry bulk and non-containerized general cargo and 3.8 million cruise passengers in 2014.
