Michael A. Smith, PE, port engineer and utility manager at the Port of Pascagoula, has completed all requirements of AAPA's Professional Port Manager (PPM®) program.

Mr. Smith is the first his port and the 102nd candidate overall to receive PPM® certification since the program’s inception in 1995. His "Overview of National and Local Navigational and Water Resources Concerns," a report based on his residency at AAPA Headquarters in Alexandria (VA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Mobile (AL), is available on the AAPA website.
