Personnel: Beaumont, Massport

In Texas, Bill Darling was chosen by the Board of Commissioners of the Port of Beaumont Navigation District to fill the unexpired term for Port Commissioner Ward 1. Massachusetts Port Authority CEO Thomas P. Glynn recently named long-time port authority staff member Deborah Hadden as Maritime Director.

Darling Joins Port of Beaumont 

Bill Darling was chosen by the Board of Commissioners of the Port of Beaumont Navigation District to fill the unexpired term for Port Commissioner Ward 1. Darling will be sworn in at the September 23, 2013. Commissioner’s meeting and will hold the seat until the term expires in May 2015. 

Darling is currently Capital One Bank’s area president for Southeast Texas. Darling also is Capital One Bank’s manager of commercial banking for Southeast Texas. He has 28 years of banking experience, including 22 with Capital One Bank and its predecessor banks in Beaumont. Darling holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Lamar University and is a native of Beaumont. 

Massachusetts Port Authority Names Hadden as Maritime Director

Massachusetts Port Authority CEO Thomas P. Glynn recently named long-time port authority staff member Deborah Hadden as Maritime Director. Hadden has been Acting Port Director since October 2012 and has been instrumental in achieving many successes during this interim period, including negotiating a significant contract with the International Longshoremen’s Association and securing a favorable Environmental Report and Army Corps of Engineering support for the option of dredging at the Port of Boston.

Hadden joined Massport in 1994, and in 1997, Hadden was promoted to Manager of Maritime Environmental Affairs and Projects where her primary responsibilities included managing the Boston Harbor Navigation Improvement project; working with state and federal agencies to develop solutions to dredging management; and coordinating with environmental agencies and advocacy groups to resolve maritime environmental issues. In 2000, Hadden became Massport’s Deputy Port Director, Properties and Transportation. In this capacity, Deb’s responsibilities involved the development and leasing of Massport’s maritime properties, managing the Boston Harbor dredging projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and overseeing strategic planning efforts for the Port of Boston in working to resolve various maritime environmental, transportation and land use planning issues.
