Cleveland Port Authority Board Elects New Officers, Approves Bond Issuances, Renews Terminal Operating Agreement

During its meeting of March 14, the Board of Directors of the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority elected the following officers: Marc Krantz, chair; Chris Ronayne, vice chair; and Diane Downing, secretary. The appointments are for one-year terms and took effect immediately.

Mr. Krantz, who succeeds Bob Smith as board chairman, is managing partner of the Cleveland law firm of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz. He was appointed to the board in 2009 and for the past two years served as board vice chair and chair of the board’s real estate and development finance committee. 

Mr. Ronayne and Ms. Downing were both appointed to the port board in 2011. He is president of University Circle Inc. She is senior vice president and regional manager of corporate affairs for Huntington National Bank in Cleveland. 

Mr. Smith joined the board in 2007 and served one year as vice chair and two years as chair. He also headed the committee that in 2010 selected Will Friedman as the port’s president and CEO. 

During the same meeting the board also voted to issue up to $90 million in bonds to finance Cuyahoga County’s new headquarters.
