Prince Rupert Port Authority Welcomes New Board Member Bruce Hallsor

The Prince Rupert Port Authority on Feb. 15 welcomed Robert Bruce Ellis Hallsor to its Board of Directors. His appointment was made on the recommendation of the Denis Lebel, Canada’s Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, in consultation with port users.

A past president of the Victoria Bar Association and past national chair of the Canadian Bar Association section on Wills, Estates and Trusts, Mr. Hallsor runs a successful commercial law practice with 30 partners and employees. He holds a law degree from the University of Victoria and a BA in history from the University of British Columbia. Prior to being called to the bar, Mr. Hallsor worked as a research director, legislative assistant and ministerial assistant in the provincial legislative assembly. 

With involvement in many community charities as a board member or legal advisor, he was appointed by the provincial government as a public representative of the College of Social Workers, as a business representative on the Provincial Child Care Council, and is chair of the City of Victoria's Board of Variance.
