At its February 20 board meeting, the Greater Lafourche Port Commission (GLPC) Board elected the following officers: Perry Gisclair, president; Jimmy Guidry, vice president; Harris "Chuckie” Cheramie, secretary; and John Melancon Jr., treasurer. Officers serve three-year terms.  

The nine-member port commission is the governing authority of Port Fourchon and the South Lafourche Airport. Port commissioners are elected for six-year terms by the citizens of the 10th Ward of Lafourche Parish.
