Norwegian Epic to Sail From Port Canaveral in November 2016

Port Canaveral will be homeport for Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest ship, the 4,100-passenger capacity Norwegian Epic, starting in November 2016, offering seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries and three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas.

"Bringing Norwegian Epic, our largest ship and our newest ever to homeport in Port Canaveral, represents a big opportunity for the Norwegian brand," said Andy Stuart, Norwegian’s president and chief operating officer. "We know that there is pent-up demand from our loyal guests to cruise from Port Canaveral and we are excited to bring this spectacular ship to the Greater Orlando area."

Eastern Caribbean port calls include Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands); and Great Stirrup Cay (The Bahamas). The Western Caribbean port itinerary includes Cozumel (Mexico), George Town (Grand Cayman), Ocho Rios (Jamaica), and Great Stirrup Cay. The three- and four-day Bahamas itineraries, set for January and March 2017, will call Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay.

NCL’s 1996-passenger Norwegian Spirit will be homeported in at Canaveral from November 2015 through April 2016.

"As a regular port of call for Norwegian Cruise Line ships, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to homeport Norwegian Epic and welcome Norwegian Cruise Line guests into our community," said Port Canaveral CEO John E. Walsh. "Our focus is to continue to provide the best customer service and facilities for our business partners and their passengers. Our efforts are being rewarded with the largest ships afloat and more itineraries from Port Canaveral."

Norwegian Epic is Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest ship, with gross capacity of 155,738 registered tons, length of 1,081 feet, width of 133 feet, and accommodations for up to 4,100 passengers and 1,753 crew members.
