Puerto Vallarta on the Mexican Riviera is a popular tourist attraction, with beaches, cultural centers, vibrant night life, and distinctive music and cuisine. The commercial port caters entirely to cruise tourism and can dock up to three 70,000- ton passenger vessels at a time. Docking facilities also are available for tenders transferring passengers to and from anchored cruise ships. In 2014, the port received 187 cruise vessel calls and 441,297 passengers.
