Strategic Partnership Agreement between DISQ and the Port of Belledune

The Port of Belledune joined Development Innovation Saint-Quentin Inc. (DISQ) on June 16 in signing a strategic partnership agreement, confirming their economic development synergy, strategy and international alliances.

"The purpose of this North-West and North-East strategic alliance, for DISQ and Port of Belledune respectively, is that we are expecting unprecedented international growth to successfully respond to DISQ executives with a preferred international import/export solution, with our state-of-the-art port facilities and potential for international tonnage," said Rayburn Doucett, the port authority’s president and chief executive officer. "Our partnership with DISQ will also enable us to build future economic alliances, such as negotiations and partnership agreements with the European Union and other international markets."

"Moreover, DISQ is a beacon not only for our 400 corporate members in the North-West area but also for the 1,000 members at CÉNB, a partner organization. DISQ expects, over the short and medium term, to create robust industrial/economic added value for our future alliances with companies outside of New Brunswick wishing to establish in the North-West area, as well as to facilitate import-export discussions with our current and future DISQ members," confirms the newly appointed CEO of DISQ, Luc Fournier.
