San Pedro Ports Box Traffic Up 3.2 Percent in May

The San Pedro Harbor ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles together handled container volumes totaling just over 1.3 million TEUs in May, an increase from a year ago of 3.2 percent. In detail, the data show increases from a year ago of 1.8 percent for inbound loads, 14.4 percent for empty containers, and a decline of 5.4 percent in outbound loads. That brought year-to-date throughput at America’s largest container handling complex to 5.9 million TEUs, down 1.7 percent from 6.0 million TEUs in January-May 2014. Click here for details.
