AAPA and more than 60 affiliate groups from around the United States will participate in the 2015 Infrastructure Week on May 11-15, 2015. High-profile events, media coverage, focused advocacy and other efforts seek to build momentum for revitalization of America’s economic competitiveness by rebuilding American infrastructure.

Infrastructure Week convenes an unprecedented, broad and non-partisan coalition united in the belief that investing in infrastructure is investing in America’s economy. It challenges policy-makers and the public to move beyond short-term fixes and deferred maintenance, and to envision the innovative solutions, technologies, policies and investments that will bring America’s aging infrastructure into the 21st century.

AAPA is crafting a social media campaign for Infrastructure Week aimed at highlighting the value of transportation infrastructure, as well as the landside and waterside connections to seaports. In addition, we are hosting an event with the Port of New Orleans and the American Society of Civil Engineers designed to educate local businesses and stakeholders about how infrastructure supports America’s ports.

You can get involved, too. In addition to sharing our infographics on your social media channels, we encourage you to create your own local stories to tell throughout the week.
