Corpus Christi Names Rosie Collin Director of Community Relations 

Port Corpus Christi has appointed Rosie Collin to the newly created position of director of community relations. 
Her responsibilities are to develop, pursue, foster and maintain positive long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key members of the port's neighboring communities including stakeholders, community civic, non-profit and business organizations, as well as elected officials and business, civic and community leaders. 

Before joining the port, she worked at CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery as the public affairs and community relations coordinator. Earlier, she served as president and CEO of the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and before that as executive director of the Ingleside (TX) Local Redevelopment Authority. 

Ms. Collin earned a bachelor's degree in English and speech from Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree from Corpus Christi State University. She has served on numerous community advisory boards for USO South Texas, Corpus Christi Medical Center, Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Westside Business Association and received several awards. 

"With the fulfillment of the community relations position, the port will further engage our neighboring communities as our port continues to support the future growth of our region," said Port Executive Director John LaRue. "Rosie was chosen among many applicants because she is a well versed member of our community with extensive community relations experience."

Tampa Bay: Carl Lindell Reappointed to Port Authority Board

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed Carl Lindell to the Tampa Port Authority’s board of commissioners. Mr. Lindell is the president and chief executive officer of Lindell Investments. Until 2004, he was the owner and president of Lindell Motors Inc. in Tampa, as well as majority owner of Lindell Mazda in St. Petersburg.

Mr. Lindell received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina, a master’s degree from Emory University and served in the Florida National Guard from 1968 to 1974. He is a member of the Society of International Business Fellows and past chapter chairman of the Young Presidents’ Organization Florida. He is reappointed for a term beginning March 27, 2015, and ending November 14, 2018. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

The port authority board consists of seven members – five appointed by the governor and one each by the Tampa and the Hillsboro County commissioners.
