North Carolina Names Kenworthy Director of Bulk and Breakbulk

The North Carolina State Ports Authority has promoted Lance Kenworthy to director, bulk and breakbulk. Mr. Kenworthy has been an account executive with the ports authority for the past nine years and before that worked as project coordinator for a construction company.
 
"Lance has been instrumental in bringing major projects to our ports in recent years," Chief Executive Officer Paul J. Cozza said. "The Tappan Zee Bridge Project, as well as the recruitment of Enviva, just to name a few." 

Mr. Kenworthy will be accountable for the development and implementation of key strategies designed to increase bulk and breakbulk cargo volumes and revenues through the ports of Wilmington and Morehead City. He will also supervise and direct account executives. 

"I’m excited to grow into this new role with the North Carolina State Ports Authority," said Mr. Kenworthy. "We have two outstanding ports with a long-standing tradition of excellent service and proven capabilities in serving the bulk and breakbulk shipping community. We plan to continue to improve upon this tradition." 

Mr. Kenworthy has an MBA from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and BS and BA degrees in business administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. 

Québec: Marie-Soleil Tremblay Appointed to Port Authority Board

Canadian Transport Minister Lisa Raitt has appointed Marie-Soleil Tremblay of Québec to represent the Canadian federal government on the board of directors of the Québec Port Authority for a term of three years.

Ms. Tremblay is an associate professor at École nationale d'administration publique in the city of Québec, where she teaches accounting at the master’s level. During the last three years, Ms. Tremblay published ten research articles on auditing and governance in specialized journals. Earlier, she was a lecturer at Université Laval, where she taught graduate courses in auditing and an undergraduate course in accounting.

Between 1994 and 2007, she worked as an external auditor at Samson Bélair Deloitte & Touche, then joined the Quebec Auditor General’s office, and later was an internal auditor at La Financière agricole du Québec.
Ms. Tremblay is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting from Université Laval. She is a member of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association and l’Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and has won numerous academic awards.

The port authority board consists of seven members, including one representative each of the federal, provincial and municipal governments and four representatives of port users.

Saint John: Three-year Mandate for Lisa Ann Keenan

Canadian Transport Minister Lisa Raitt has appointed Lisa Ann Keenan of Saint John (NB) to represent port users on the board of directors of the Saint John Port Authority for a term of three years.

Ms. Keenan has been practicing law in Saint John for more than 20 years, working primarily on criminal law, administrative law, family law and real estate law. She is past president and director of Saint John Non Profit Housing Inc., president of the New Brunswick Red Cross, and member of the board of governors of the Canadian Red Cross. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick, and an Honors BA in History from St. Francis Xavier University. Recently, Ms. Keenan received the E. Neil McKelvey, Q.C. Pro Bono and Volunteer Service Award from the Canadian Bar Association.

The port authority board consists of seven members, including one representative each of the federal, provincial and municipal governments and four representatives of port users.
