Brazilian Port Company is AAPA’s Newest Corporate Member

CDP is the port authority for the northeastern Brazilian state of Pará and administers a system of ports and marine terminals that include Altamira, Belém, Itaituba, Marabá, Miramar, Óbidos, Outeiro, Santarém, São Francisco, and Vila do Conde. Cargo throughput systemwide in 2014 amounted to 21.7 million metric tons, including nearly 1.0 million tons of containerized freight. Top commodities by weight were bauxite, alumina, corn, soybeans, fuels, soda, and coal. Cruise ships call Belém and Santarém. In 1921, Pará became AAPA’s first Latin American port member.
