AAPA has slated 11 maritime industry programs for 2015, including its eighth annual Shifting International Trade Routes workshop in Tampa, Fla., Jan. 29-30; its annual Spring Conference in Washington, D.C., April 20-21; and its Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 4-8, being held in Miami, Fla., and hosted by PortMiami.
New for 2015, AAPA will feature two hot-button seminar topics that are trending in the seaport industry. First is its Maritime Economic Development Energy Projects Seminar, Feb. 24-25 in Pensacola, Fla., that will focus on the movement, storage, distribution and use of energy projects, components and systems at ports. Second is its Cybersecurity Seminar, March 11-12 in Savannah, Ga., that will examine ways in which cyberspace security threats impact port operations and will address emerging cybersecurity issues, regulation of cybersecurity plans, and availability of government funds to deter and handle cyber incidents at ports.
For the balance of 2014, AAPA is also featuring its 25th annual Marine Terminal Management Training program, Oct. 6-10 in Philadelphia, Pa., while the Port of Houston Authority will host AAPA’s 103rd Annual Convention and Expo, Nov. 9-13 in Houston, Texas.
