Port Security Seminar & Exhibition

Time is growing short but it’s not too late to register for AAPA's Port Security Seminar and Exhibition, July 16-18, at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in the vibrant, historic port city of Baltimore. An outstanding program has been developed by the AAPA Security Committee and its chairman, Joe Lawless of the Massachusetts Port Authority, for what will be the association's 14th security seminar since May 2001. Last year's seminar drew a large and enthusiastic audience; this year's promises to be equally engaging.

The agenda was organized with the objective of stimulating a fruitful exchange of views and concerns between ports and federal agencies on key port security issues. Among the panel themes are:

  • Prosecuting International Terrorism and Maritime-Related Criminal Cases
  • Cyber Security
  • Resiliency in Ports
  • TWIC Issues and Challenges
  • Liability Management
  • FSO Training and Recertification
  • Port Security Grants

Among the confirmed speakers are Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) and Harvey E. Eisenberg, assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland.

Tabletop exhibits on Thursday, July 17, and event sponsorships throughout the seminar afford excellent opportunities to draw the attention of top port industry security officials to your company’s products and services. To learn more, contact Ed O’Connell at (703) 706-4709 or eoconnell@aapa-ports.org.

Hotel Reservations: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. To secure accommodations, call the hotel directly at (410) 962-8300 or (800) 325-3535. Be sure to mention your attendance at the AAPA seminar so as to receive the special rate of $199 for a single or double. The cut-off date for the AAPA room block is July 2, 2014.

Note that the Security Seminar is a core requirement of the AAPA PPM® program.
