TRB Conference: Innovative Technologies for a Resilient Marine Transportation System

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is sponsoring Innovative Technologies for a Resilient Marine Transportation System: 3rd Biennial Research & Development Conference on June 24-26, 2014, in Washington, D.C. The conference features keynote addresses by former Coast Guard Commandant Thad Allen, Maj. Gen. John Peabody from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Richard Ceci of Global Container Terminals (USA). Session topics include the future of navigation, system performance, engineering with nature, innovative technology, data management and security.

The conference will serve as a forum to examine the use of emerging and innovative technologies and practices in marine transportation and waterways management. The conference is designed to foster partnerships between federal, state, private and academic institutions with a shared interest in technological innovations and improved performance of the marine transportation system.
