Workshop on Improving Coastal Resiliency

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The Northeastern Seaboard Workshop at the Explorer’s Club in New York City on April 22 will explore improved management, protection and resiliency of Northeastern Seaboard infrastructure through better understanding and prediction of coastal hazards. Partners across federal, regional, academia and industry will explore how a sustained U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) can enhance, coordinate and connect information at various scales. Speakers on the both data provider and user sides will begin sessions that focus ports, transportation, utilities, communications infrastructure, insurance/reinsurance and emergency response. There will then be ground-level discussion on how to improve IOOS to better meet user needs.

For more information and to register, go to the workshop’s website: http://www.ioos.noaa.gov/communications/outreach/ne_seaboard_workshop.html.
