In conjunction with AAPA’s seventh-annual Shifting International Trade Routes conference at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay hotel, January 23-24, in Tampa, AAPA Chairman of the Board Tay Yoshitani, AAPA President Kurt Nagle and Tampa Port Authority CEO Paul Anderson will hold a press conference at 9:30 a.m. during the first day of the conference to discuss vital trade, transportation and infrastructure issues that impact nearly all seaports in the Western  Hemisphere.

The three executives will discuss key issues affecting international trade, and important trends and variables like global trade demand and its positive effects on domestic exports. They also will discuss funding for critical transportation infrastructure, such as waterside and landside improvements that are necessary to keep ports – as well as local and regional economies – viable.

The one-and-a-half day conference is sponsored by AAPA in cooperation with the U.S. Maritime Administration and hosted by the Tampa Port Authority. It will address international trade route shifts and how the various players in the transportation industry view the progress of recovery from the recent economic recession. It will also focus on how trade patterns and infrastructure needs are being affected by major projects such as the Panama Canal expansion.
