Freeport (TX) Port Commissioners Elect Officers

Port Freeport commissioners elected new officers during their regularly scheduled meeting on June 13. Immediately prior to the meeting, Bill Terry and Ravi Singhania were sworn in for new six-year terms as port commissioners.

The new officers are: John Hoss, chairman; Paul Kresta, vice chairman; Shane Pirtle, secretary; and Ravi Singhania, assistant secretary.

A native of Freeport, Mr. Hoss is a graduate of Oklahoma State University-CEAT and School of Fire Protection and Safety Engineering. Since 1997, he has been a principal in Freeport Launch, LP, delivering supplies to ships and servicing the offshore oil and seismic industry. He is an active member of Brazosport Marine Advisory Team (BMAT), which deals with planning emergency response activities in the Brazosport harbor area. He also is a board member of the Brazosport Chamber of Commerce and K9’s4Cops, a foundation that trains and donates dogs to law enforcement agencies.

As port commission chairman, Mr. Hoss will also lead the Brazos Harbor Industrial Development Corporation and the Pilot Board.
