JAXPORT Welcomes New Liner Service

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) on May 6 welcomed the first vessel call from Bahri General Cargo, formerly known as the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia. The vessel Bahri Abha called on JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal to load vehicles and other cargoes headed to the Middle East.

Bahri Abha is the first of six new, multipurpose cargo vessels Bahri is deploying in its U.S. East Coast/Arabian Gulf service. The port rotation is: Baltimore (import); Houston; Jacksonville; Savannah; Charleston; Wilmington, N.C.; Baltimore (export); New York; Halifax; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (eastbound); Jebel Ali, Dubai; Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Mesaieed, Qatar; Mumbai, India; Mundra, India; Jeddah (westbound) and Livorno.
