Now is the time to make plans for AAPA's Port Security Seminar and Exhibition, July 17-19, at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in the vibrant, historic port city of Baltimore. An outstanding program has been developed by the AAPA Security Committee and its chairman, Joe Lawless of the Massachusetts Port Authority, for what will be the association's 13th security seminar since May 2001. Last year's seminar in Miami drew a large and enthusiastic audience; this year's promises to be equally engaging.

The agenda was organized with the objective of stimulating a fruitful exchange of views and concerns between ports and federal agencies on key port security issues. Among the panel themes are:
  • Sequestration Impacts and Implications for Seaport Security
  • Portal Monitors
  • TWIC Issues and Challenges
  • FSO Standards Update
  • Port Security Grants
  • Cyber Security Systems
  • Active Shooter Scenarios
  • Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative
  • Emergency Response and Recovery: Superstorm Sandy Case Study
Tabletop exhibits on Thursday, July 18, and event sponsorships throughout the seminar afford excellent opportunities to draw the attention of top port industry security officials to your company’s products and services. To learn more, contact Jodi Gibson at (703) 706-4717 or jgibson@aapa-ports.org.

Hotel Reservations: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. To secure accommodations, call the hotel directly at (410) 962-8300 or (800) 325-3535.
