Long Beach Awards Port Scholarships to Students Pursuing Careers in International Trade

The Port of Long Beach on April 23 awarded $58,000 to 24 high school and college students who are pursuing careers in fields related to international trade and goods movement. 

Each year the port offers scholarships to local students ranging from graduating high school seniors preparing to enter higher education to mid-career professionals seeking to add to their skills and capabilities. Since the program began in 1993, the port has presented 296 scholarships totaling $505,650 to support the academic ambitions of future leaders in the international business community.
