The 2013 AAPA Awards Programs (Communications, Facilities Engineering, Environmental Improvement and Information Technology) are open for submissions.

The 2013 AAPA Communications Awards Program rules and entry document is now posted to the AAPA website. Click here to download the document and for a link to the PowerPoint slide template that must be completed and emailed to AAPA for each entry submitted. Scrolling down the page, you’ll also find links to successful entries from previous years for review and download.

At the end of the rules-and-entry document, be sure to read “Tips On Scoring High Marks For Evaluation” for an inside perspective on the judging criteria.

Please note that the deadline for 2013 AAPA Communications Awards Program entries is Wednesday, May 1, and that judging will commence shortly thereafter, so late entries may not be accepted. Winning entries from this year’s contest will be announced in early June and presented during AAPA’s 102nd Annual Convention and Expo in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 13-18, which is being hosted this year by the Canaveral Port Authority.

AAPA ‘s Dan Maynard Communications Award For Overall Excellence honors the former manager of communications at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who passed away in 2004.

The Facilities Engineering, Environmental Improvement and Information Technology Awards will be given at the 102nd Annual AAPA Convention, to be held October 13-17 in Orlando, Fla. Here is a draft timeline for these three programs:
  • June 1 – Applications due at AAPA headquarters
  • June 15 – Judging begins
  • July 1 – Target date for award decisions
