Philadelphia Adds Horizon Lines to its Service Roster

PHI Horizon Lineswill begin a weekly vessel service between the ports of Philadelphia and San Juan on April 11. The service will bring 52 vessel calls annually to Packer Avenue Marine Terminal (PAMT), which is operated by Holt Logistics subsidiary Greenwich Terminals, LLC, under lease from thePhiladelphia Regional Port Authority.

Horizon Lines is advertising a 3.5-day transit time between Philadelphia and Puerto Rico, with a vessel departing PAMT every Thursday. It will handle containerized general, refrigerated and pharmaceutical cargoes. 

Horizon Lines is a U.S.-flag carrier, serving all three noncontiguous domestic markets – Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico – from the continental United States. The company operates a fleet of 14 fully Jones Act-qualified vessels and five port terminals in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.

Philadelphia’s Packer Avenue Marine Terminal will begin hosting a weekly Horizon Lines Puerto Rico service in April.
