Past AAPA Chair Michael Leone Appointed PIANC USA Commissioner

Michael A. Leone was recently appointed the newest PIANC USA commissioner. Mr. Leone retired last fall as port director at the Massachusetts Port Authority. He twice served as AAPA chairman of the board in 2003-2004 and 2009-2010.

Mr. Leone is a national leader in the maritime industry, with 40 years of experience managing high level and complex initiatives and operations. He is recognized as a national expert on port security, sustainable operations and marine terminal development. He holds a JD from George Washington University and a BS in management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Mr. Leone replaces former AAPA staffer Dave Sanford on the commission.
