Corpus Christi Promotes Ruben Medina to Business Development Director

Port Corpus Christi has promoted Ruben C. Medina to director of business development under the supervision of the deputy port director of operations and business development. 

Mr. Medina joined the port in 2009 as deputy director for business development. Previously, as a logistics-entrepreneur consultant for Marine Terminals (Ports America) in Oakland, Calif., he developed new business opportunities in Latin America. Before that, he was employed for 27 years as a general manager in Japan, the United States and Mexico by Transportación Marítima Mexicana, an international container/bulk cargo and car carrier shipping company.

He earned a degree in economics from Claremont McKenna-California State University-Fresno, class of 1974 and enrolled in post graduate studies in ship finance and operations through UNCTAD – the United Nations Conference on Trade & Development. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and conversational Japanese. He is active in Rotary, World Affairs Council, Knights of Columbus, Free Trade Alliance and AAPA’s Maritime Economic Development Committee.
