AAPA Seeking Contributions to Port Employees Emergency Relief Fund

AAPA anticipates that a significant number of port employees will be severely affected by the widespread devastation and distress caused by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. The AAPA Port Employees Emergency Relief Fund throws a lifeline to port employees and their families needing assistance following natural disasters. Supported by contributions from ports, AAPA staff, and others, the fund has provided immediate help to port employees throughout the hemisphere affected by hurricanes, major storms, floods, earthquakes, and wild fires since 2005. The cash grants constitute that much needed first-dollar help while employees are scrambling to provide their families food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities during that crucial interval before insurance adjustments and other assistance become available.

We invite and urge our industry colleagues to donate to the fund at this crucial time. Checks should be made payable to "Foundation for Seaports of the Americas" and sent to: AAPA, 1010 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. If you prefer to wire a contribution, contact AAPA for instructions. The foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization, which means that donations are tax deductible as charitable contributions. 100% of the donations go to assist port employees. Please help! Thank you!
