Trailer Bridge enhances service from JAXPORT to the Dominican Republic

Trailer Bridge, Inc., has begun offering additional service to the Dominican Republic from JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. The company has two sailings per week to Santo Domingo, in addition to its long-time weekly service to Puerto Plata.

The Santo Domingo service utilizes one Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro/Ro) barge, plus one combination Lift-on/Lift-off (Lo/Lo) and Ro/Ro barge to move containerized cargo, flatbed breakbulk cargo, passenger vehicles, large construction and farming equipment, boats and other oversized specialty cargo. The vessels also call San Juan, Puerto Rico, during the twice weekly rotation to Santo Domingo.

Trailer Bridge serves the Dominican Republic trade lane with 53-foot containers, which, the company says, significantly reduces per-unit cost compared to traditional 40-footers.

Trailer Bridge has been serving the Caribbean market through JAXPORT for more than 25 years.
