In that capacity, he will be responsible for the strategic oversight of the port’s portfolio of real estate assets and development along the 7½ miles of San Francisco’s waterfront that extends from Fisherman’s Wharf to Bayview/Hunters Point. Prior to his tenure with the city, Mr. Martin worked in the private sector for law firms focusing on real estate asset management negotiations and municipal financing transactions from 1998 to 2002.

Mr. Martin holds a JD (with honors) from The George Washington University Law School and a BA degree in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Notre Dame.

Michael has the strategic judgement required to lead the revitalization of the port’s unique waterfront assets and inspire a hardworking and creative team."
