Port of Palm Beach and Panama Canal Authority Extend their Strategic Alliance by Five Years

The Port of Palm Beach and the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) have extended the term of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by five additional years. The original MOU, signed December 9, 2009 in Panama, with the objective of fostering joint marketing initiatives, information exchange, and business development.

The amended MOU was signed March 2 by Panama Canal Administrator Jorge L. Quijano and March 17 by Executive Director Manuel Almira and Chairman Blair J. Ciklin on behalf of the Port of Palm Beach District.

"Through our partnership with the Panama Canal Authority, we have continued cooperation to share commercial intelligence," said Mr. Almira. "We are very pleased to extend this alliance, especially now that the Panama Canal is experiencing considerable growth, setting new daily tonnage records in February for the third consecutive month."
