Port Tampa Bay Wins Public Relations Award for Channel District Plan Community/Press Event

Port Tampa Bay has received a "PRestige Award" from the Tampa Bay chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

The award honors the port authority for a community outreach and press event that unveiled the port’s long-term vision for the redevelopment of waterfront land in the Channel District, adjacent to Tampa’s downtown core. The August 2015 event brought together community and economic development leaders and elected officials, as well as every major local media outlet, for the vision plan.

The presentation occurred during the chapter’s second annual awards luncheon, October 28, at the Tampa Marriott Westshore Hotel.

"The port is honored to be awarded for its landmark community event to unveil the Channel District vision plan, which was highly anticipated and well attended by the Tampa Bay community," said Port CEO Paul Anderson. "The project is very large and will bring unprecedented stimulus and quality of life to the downtown area, so this award is very appropriate and appreciated."
