Port of Hueneme awarded $307,500 in Federal Security Grant Program

The Port of Hueneme has been awarded $307,500 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s FY 2016 Port Security Grant Program.

The funds will provide multi-functional applications protecting critical port and regional infrastructure from terrorism, enhance maritime domain awareness, improve port-wide maritime security risk management, and maintain or reestablish maritime security mitigation protocols that support port recovery and resiliency as well as enhance the response capabilities of its regional law enforcement partners.

"This funding comes at a critical time as we continue to partner with our community law enforcement partners to ramp up security and maximize the safety of the citizens we serve," said Port Director Kristin Decas. "A special thank you to Congresswoman Brownley, who has been most instrumental in leveraging the legislation necessary to ensure all ports receive essential funding for important security projects."
