Armaan Patel, founder of AGA Hotels and winner of AAHOA's Outstanding Young Professional of the Year Award, is using his passion for the hospitality indsutry to assist in the growth of franchises with a hands-on approach. Young professionals like Armaan bring tech-savvy solutions and a fresh perspective to help hotels meet the demands of current modern guests.

Armaan’s hotel businesses use search engine optimization, revenue optimization, and a rewards program as a form of growing and maintaining their large audience.

When asked about his role as a youth entrepreneur, he said: "I aspire to influence young individuals to establish their interests and begin to feel comfortable taking risks for their passion. I hope to help young entrepreneurs gain knowledge from their highs and lows rather than letting them set them back. I hope to become a positive influencer for young and upcoming entrepreneurs by guiding them where to begin and how to expand.”

AAHOA is proud to provide the platform and resources to help young hoteliers truly revolutionize the hospitality industry.

Texas: THLA Highlights $180M Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program Now Open for Hospitality, Tourism Industries
The Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant program opened applications on July 5 to administer $180 million of federal coronavirus funds to tourism, travel, and hospitality industries that were negatively impacted by the pandemic. Funding for the program was established by state legislators last year, using money received from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program, a part of the American Rescue Plan. Eligible Texas businesses that experienced an economic loss due to COVID-19 can receive a one-time payment of up to $20,000, state officials said.

California: California Hospitality United Coalition Provides Legislative Update

Unfortunately, in the past few weeks, the Los Angeles City Council and the Glendale City Council voted to adopt the Hotel Worker Limitation ordinance rather than putting it on the November ballot and letting voters decide. In Laguna Beach, a similar measure will be heading to the ballot.

As we’ve seen in other communities that have adopted similar ordinances, these policy proposals triple the costs of housekeeping and cause a decrease in Transient Occupancy Tax revenue following implementation. Be on the lookout for the spread of similar ordinances in your community as they directly harm the hospitality economy and jobs.

As the summer flies by, AAHOA continues to successfully execute regionals, town halls, and charity golf tournaments. AAHOA only has three more charity golf tournaments on the calendar for the rest of the year, and if you have yet to attend one, we highly recommend going to one (or more!) of the remaining ones - trust us, you don't want to miss out!

At the first two golf tournaments earlier this year, we raised more than $100,000 for various charities. We do not intend for the momentum to slow down, so if you would like a chance to enjoy a beautiful day on the greens, network with other hoteliers and vendors, and most importantly, raise money for great causes, register today!

This month, several AAHOA team members received their certificate to administer the Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Training Sponsored by AAHOA program to AAHOA Members and their staff.

During the Upper Midwest Regional Conference & Trade Show on Thursday, July 28, AAHOA will be conducting a FREE human trafficking prevention training session, which is an incredibly important opportunity for hoteliers and their staff to learn about how to prevent human trafficking and earn their certificate onsite.

Human trafficking harms victims and poses serious safety risks to guests and employees, and it can also expose your property to legal and financial liabilities. The training program helps lodging staff identify the crime and proactively prevent it from occurring.

If you are attending the Upper Midwest Regional Conference & Trade Show, AAHOA strongly recommends taking the time to attend this hour-long session to bolster individual knowledge on human trafficking and how it impacts everyone in the hospitality industry. Register today.
