AAHOA News

January is National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and Tuesday, January 11, is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. To show our commitment to ending human trafficking, AAHOA is wearing blue in honor of #WearBlueDay, and we're inviting you to join us. We are asking you take photos of yourself and your team wearing blue and share them on AAHOA’s social media – FacebookTwitter, and Instagram – as well as your personal channels using the #WearBlueDay hashtag. Also, if you’re able to take your photo in advance of January 11, send it to pr@aahoa.com to be highlighted in AAHOA’s campaign. If you're an AAHOA Member and haven't already done so, get yourself and your staff trained to recognize the signs of trafficking through our Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Training Sponsored by AAHOA FREE online training.

As of December 27, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cut its earlier recommendation of 10 days of isolation due to a positive COVID-19 test in half. That means anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 but is asymptomatic needs to isolate for only five days. The CDC’s recommended quarantine period for anyone who has been exposed to the virus has also been updated. Unvaccinated people should quarantine for five days, followed by five days of "strict mask use." The most critical action hoteliers can take now is to encourage your employees to get vaccinated if they have not already done so. Vaccinations are a great means to ensure the safety of your employees and the confidence of your guests. Sign the AAHOA Pledge to Protect today and visit our website for more information.
