Last week, the Senate confirmed John Ring to fill the fifth seat on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). AAHOA President & CEO Chip Rogers states, "We are confident that Mr. Ring will help restore the integrity and evenhandedness of the NLRB which, in recent years, became decidedly activist and appallingly overreaching in its approach to resolving labor disputes." With the NLRB now having a full five members, it may seek to clarify the joint employer standard that was overturned earlier this year.

Overall U.S. RevPAR was up 12.2 percent last week compared to the same time last year, per STR. Group RevPAR was up 105.2 percent whereas transient was down 9 percent.
