Support wild fire disaster relief: Fires in California have had a devastating impact on local communities. AAFA letters and comments last week: Last week, AAFA submitted comments ahead of a January 16 Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) hearing on a petition requesting the FMC to establish a rule governing detention, demurrage, and per diem charges for cargo. AAFA also joined 15 leading garment brands and other associations from Europe and the U.S. in a call on the Myanmar government to respect the rights of the ethnic minority population of Rakhine State; sent a joint multi-association, international letter to trade ministers in advance of the 11th World Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial; and urged Congress to approve the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) before the end of the year.
