NAFA Fleet Management Association said it welcomes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to ease the renewable volume obligations for ethanol in the renewable fuel standard (RFS) for 2014. EPA’s proposal addresses the concerns of the Association and fleet managers that the approaching blend wall for ethanol would result in the mandated use of E-15.

General Motors is recalling nearly 60,000 Chevy Malibu midsize cars to fix window defrosters that may not work and power seat wiring that can catch fire. GM says a computer that runs the ventilation system can revert to the previous setting even if a driver sets the controls to defrost.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has made available $2 million in funding for rebates to help public and private construction equipment owners replace or retrofit older diesel construction engines. The rebates are intended to reduce harmful pollution and improve air quality in local areas.
