The health insurance marketplaces created by the Affordable Care Act will open on Oct. 1. Most small employers—those with 50 or fewer full-time employees—are not required to offer health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Sudz Car Wash, which is about the size of Honolulu’s iconic McKinley Car Wash, recently opened in Lihue on Kauai near Kukui Grove Center and Costco Wholesale, according to part-owner Jay Murata. The 2,000-square-foot operation, which includes a 100-foot tunnel with self dryers on the outside, has about 10 employees and is the first of its kind on the Garden Isle.
