LEGISLATIVE NEWS
On Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Civil Justice PAC hosted their Annual Legislative Reception at the home of GTLA Executive Vice President Darren Penn. With dozens of legislators in attendance after a long day at the Capitol, GTLA & Civil Justice PAC members were able to mix and mingle with many of our strongest legislative allies and friends. COMMUNICATIONS
This year, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association has partnered with EndDD (End Distracted Driving) to bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving to students and drivers all across our state. Working alongside Trial Lawyer & EndDD Founder Joel Feldman, our members will have the opportunity to speak at schools, civic organizations and other gatherings with a personalized, interactive presentation that gives the facts in an engaging manner about the dangers of distracted driving.
Already, this presentation has been given to more than 165,000 students and drivers across the United States, and that number continues to quickly grow as the EndDD program gains momentum. WOMEN'S TRIAL LAWYER CAUCUS
As part of our Lawyer of the Day Program, the Women's Trial Lawyer Caucus joined GTLA's Legislative Team at the State Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 26. While under the Gold Dome, the Women's Caucus had the opportunity to meet with Governor Deal (see below), assist in our lobbying efforts and attend a hearing in which we all worked together to defeat a potentially-harmful provision contained within a piece of legislation. It was a great day at the Capitol!

CIVIL JUSTICE PAC
The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn today which means that the 2014 campaign season begins tomorrow. It is critical that the PAC have the necessary resources that allow us to support members and candidates who share our mission to uphold our Constitution's promise of protecting and defending the civil justice system. As you know, this was an incredibly busy session for our Legislative Team and the fights we just fought will not go away.
