Food Shippers of America

RWI Transportation LLC
Start networking early! All registered attendees, golfers and non-golfers are invited to join us for a buffet luncheon Sunday, February 24, 2013, on the ballroom lawn from noon to 2 p.m. In addition to our annual FSA Golf Tournament, for 2013 we'll have a Round Robin Mixed Couples Tennis Tournament. This should be another exciting event and a chance to grab your partner and challenge other conference attendees while expanding your networking opportunities. Sign up early for an enjoyable afternoon on the court. New for 2013, and a suggestion from our survey, is our Shipper/Receiver First-Time Attendees Welcome Reception. This relaxed setting is a good time for first-time attendees to meet the Food Shippers of America Board and Planning Committee, as well as other shippers/receivers. Last, but not least, is the expansion of the John J. Murphy College Scholarship Awards. For 2013, FSA has expanded the scholarship funds to three deserving applicants, so if you are an active member of Food Shippers of America, we encourage you to get the word out in your organization and submit the scholarship application.

Registration for both conference and hotel for our 58th Annual Food Shippers of America Conference is now open!

The American Trucking Associations is applauding Rep. Reid Ribble (R-Wisc.) for his introduction of a bill requiring the U.S. Department of Transportation to conduct a pilot program to evaluate the use of hair samples to test commercial drivers for illicit drug use. "For many years, ATA has supported improving drug and alcohol testing procedures for commercial drivers," ATA president and CEO Bill Graves said. "Hair testing, which research and experience shows can be much more effective than current, conventional sampling and testing methods, is the next logical step in this process." "No fleet wants to put the safety of the public at risk by putting an impaired driver behind the wheel of one its trucks," said ATA chairman Mike Card, president of Combined Transport. "More effective drug testing procedures can help us make sure that doesn't happen."

The NRF said the strike is now at the national emergency stage, impacting industries far and wide.
