If you receive value from your association with CCBO, make sure you come to the conference in Louisville and bring a colleague or two! It’s going to be a great conference (I know, I’ve been watching the planning) and you’ll receive great information and make new connections that will serve you well in the future!

Two surveys of Chief Financial Officers reported in both "The Chronicle of Higher Education" and "Inside Higher Education" report similar findings. Among those findings are: 1. All of higher education is definitely NOT out of the financial woods yet and probably won't be in 2012. In fact, projections suggest that it could take an additional three to four years before state funding levels return to pre-2008 levels, 2. Cost cutting among administrative units have contributed the most reductions in staff or costs; and.......

Dr. Robert Bramucci, Vice Chancellor of Technology and Learning Services for South Orange County Community College District, has been secured as the Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Before he became the Vice Chancellor of Technology and Learning Services for South Orange County Community College District, Dr. Bramucci spent fifteen years in the classroom. He serves on the state Educational Technology Advisory Committee to the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges and has been honored with the system's highest award for technology leadership. Bob and his team just won a 2010 Campus Technology Innovator Award from Campus Technology magazine and their work was recently featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education.

CCBO has planned a tour and event at the Kentucky Derby Museum on Monday, September 19 in the afternoon as part of the educational programming. We look forward to having you join us! Transportation to be provided. The tour will run from 3:30-5:30 pm, and refreshments will be served. We will return to the Marriott in time for the optional group dinner.

The awards recognize dynamic business officers and spotlights innovative exemplary practices. Exemplary practice winners will be recognized at the luncheon event on September 18. Outstanding business officers and outstanding chief business officers will be recognized at the banquet on September 19.
