Western Retail Lumber Association 2021 to 2023 Trade Show Location Announced

WRLA Annual Show will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba for 2021, 2022 and 2023

[Winnipeg, MB, June 4, 2019] — WRLA President, Liz Kovach and WRLA Board Chair, Tom Bell are pleased to announce that the annual WRLA Show will be hosted in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba for the years of 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The WRLA Show is the premier LBM show in Canada and is continually working on behalf of its members to facilitate new connections and, of course, business development. There is no other show in Canada that brings vendors and customers from the lumber and building materials together at this scale.

“We feel it is important for the WRLA to engage with all of its members from Western Canada, provide venues that present new business development opportunities and experiences that will also help to expand the industry community.” says WRLA President, Liz Kovach. Winnipeg offers a great combination of location and services that will bring enormous value to the membership attending the annual show while enhancing the community feel of the event as well.”

WRLA Board Chair Tom Bell noted “The Board unanimously supports the decision to have Winnipeg host our 2021, 2022 and 2023 show.  Strategically we want to have the show circulate in our Western Canadian provinces to ensure all our member communities are reflected in the host cities for the show. Winnipeg is an excellent partner for the association and the show.”

“With our world-class facilities and friendly Prairie hospitality, Winnipeg is the perfect destination to host the Western Retail Lumber Association Buying Show. We’re thrilled to be welcoming this important business event to our city for the first time, while also providing a strong business opportunity for WRLA to grow its membership here,” said Dayna Spiring, President and CEO of Economic Development Winnipeg Inc. “As an official winter city, this is an exciting time for members to visit Winnipeg and see how we fully embrace and enjoy the season.”

The WRLA is currently working with the Economic Development Winnipeg Team to finalize tools and resources to be released in the coming weeks to help support the transition in all aspects so stay tuned for more information.

The WRLA wishes to extend a congratulations and thank you to Tourism Winnipeg and Economic Development Winnipeg for the work on the proposal.  WRLA also wishes to thank the cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Regina for submitting proposals to host.

About EAB: EAB Exchange-A-Blade is the largest power tool accessory remanufacturer, recycler, and distributor in North America. Established in 1976, EAB is a pioneer in the development of exchangeable power tool accessories. The Exchange System allows customers to buy a product and return it after use for credit towards their next purchase. This provides dealers with a ready-made loyalty program and their customers with significant savings. Carbide saw blades received in exchange are remanufactured in Canada to new condition – validated by rigorous quality control and testing. Products that cannot be remanufactured are recycled, thus diverting construction waste from landfills. The company also promotes reduced and environmentally sustainable packaging. Principal product categories include: saw blades, abrasives, drill and SDS bits, hole saws, oscillating tool accessories, router bits, jig and reciprocating saw blades, screwdriver and impact bits.
