Part of Canada's first Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, the WE Talk Business Boot Camps is a series of one full-day sessions across Canada dedicated to Women Entrepreneurs (WE) who have been in business for a few years with a strong desire to grow.

During each WE Talk Business Boot Camp, women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses will get practical advice on leadership, growth strategy, financial literacy, sales and marketing, and human resources.

TIMBER MART is expanding their lumber and building material (LBM) distribution centre network into Ontario with the addition of a five-acre property in Mount Forest.
 
The Mount Forest distribution centre is located at 555 Perth Street in Mount Forest, Ont. It will be the third facility the buying group operates and will represent a significant expansion of their current distribution-centre network which consists of their facility in Langley, British Columbia and another in St-Nicolas, Quebec. The group will be looking to hire approximately 25 new staff for the facility in the Mount Forest area and surrounding communities when fully operational.

This year, 37 Home Hardware locations participated in tree planting initiatives across the country. Since 1992, Home Hardware Dealers have planted 25,792 trees, valued at nearly $1.4 million, in green spaces from coast to coast to coast. 
 
Home Hardware Stores Limited and Tree Canada celebrated National Tree Day by planting trees and shrubs at different locations across Canada.

"Tree Canada, Canada’s national tree charity, is excited to continue our partnership with Home Hardware by bringing more trees to communities across Canada," said Michael Rosen, President of Tree Canada. Lowe’s Canada opened its second "new model" store in Greater Calgary. The store, located at 9630 MacLeod Trail South, was converted from the former RONA Home and Garden in an extensive 16-week renovation.

New Retail Experience

  • A wider assortment of seasonal products  
  • A complete selection of appliances and the introduction of entirely new product categories including Lowe’s private labels
  • A broader selection of fashion plumbing products, such as tubs, showers, toilets, vanities, sinks, and faucets 
  • Floor displays featuring the latest fashions in wood flooring and tiles with larger displays at eye level allowing customers to better visualize their projects and better experience the texture of flooring products
