The CRBSC recognized the opportunity to transform our highly successful Estimating Fundamentals workshop to an online format to address a number of issues: the cost of travel from remote locations, valuable time spent away from the store, and offering a learning experience for those staff already engaged with virtual technology.

We award up to seven $3,000 Scholarships each year! The deadline to submit your complete application to the WRLA office is only a couple months away! On August 23, WRLA members met at St. Boniface Golf Club for a fun day of golf, networking and sunshine... only the sun forgot to show up! Even with the rain and wind, it was obvious members were enjoying themselves! Sylvain Prud’homme, President and CEO of Lowe’s Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Igor Halencak as Senior Vice President, Central Merchandising and Global Sourcing at Lowe’s Canada. In this capacity, Mr. Halencak will oversee a new center of excellence responsible for leveraging merchandising best practices across the entire Lowe’s Canada network of banners and supporting divisional merchandizing teams in the future. The new structure will also simplify vendor relationship management through the establishment of a single contact point for vendors supplying more than one of Lowe’s Canada’s banners. Mr. Halencak joined Lowe’s Canada in 2013 as Head of Merchandizing and Marketing, Lowe’s Big Box. In his more recent role, he was Vice President, Central Merchandizing, Procurement and Global Sourcing.

Lowe’s Canada, a leading home improvement company operating more than 600 stores in Canada under different banners, is proud to announce that its Lowe’s Heroes program raised a total of $279,917. This past April and May, customers in all Lowe’s stores in Canada were invited to donate $2.00 or more toward the Lowe’s Heroes program to support local community improvement projects. Lowe’s Canada matched 50 percent of all funds raised through the in-store campaign up to a maximum of $2,000 per store. The Lowe’s Canada Heroes program took place in all 56 Lowe’s-branded stores in Canada.
