The massive forest fires that have consumed Fort McMurray during the month of May 2016 have affected our entire country. There have been thousands of families and people that have fled their city and homes. They need everyone’s help! The response to this tragedy is enormous, and while it is a devastating situation, it is also one that should make Canadians proud of how we have collectively worked together to rebound and support those in need. The work has really just begun, as they put their lives back together.
Taiga feels the weight of this disaster very strongly, as we have very deep roots in the province of Alberta. This affects our families, friends, suppliers and customers. Our hearts go out to everyone who is impacted, and as a show of support Taiga has donated $20,000 to the Red Cross effort toward rebuilding the city. We will do our best to offer aid where possible and we encourage our partners to do everything in their power to contribute and support the rebuild as well. Albertans are of strong character and we will get through this crisis with the help of one another, one step at a time, as a team.
