Try out the new Project Pro Training Series:

NRHA's new project-based sales training program, Project PRO, is made up of sections that are approximately 20 minutes long and combine PlanItDIY.com project videos to teach employees how to sell a complete project – not just a few products. It provides valuable selling tips to teach associates how to complete common DIY projects and how to sell them. Modules explain how to deliver better customer service and increase transaction size by focusing on:

• The impact project selling can have on a company's financial success
• How to complete the project
• How to answer your customers’ most frequently asked questions
• How to better recognize your customer's product needs
• How to increase transaction size using add-on sales and upselling techniques

Watch each section of each module to gain a full understanding of the project and how to sell it. Once you have completed an entire module, be sure to take the module test.

"Independent hardware stores, home centres and lumber and building materials (LBM) retailers participating in NRHA’s 2013 Cost of Doing Business Study continue to see trends moving in a positive direction from both a sales and profit perspective as economic conditions slowly continue to improve across the country.
